My daily meditation today included a quote from Mahatma Gandhi stating, “Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from indomitablewill.” This made me think and I realized that all of the people I admire have an incredible amount of will. My mom can certainly not bench press 200 pounds but she is stronger than that in her determination and will. The word “will” means desire and a trait that is inherent in all successful people is a strong desire to achieve. This is highly prevalent in successful salespeople…they have a will to achieve. When I am leading training for salespeople I can look around the room and generally surmise which people are achievers and which ones are not. It is a sense of will or a desire to achieve that they each exude. They may not yet have the skills but they have what I cannot teach. When “will” and “training” are combined, success is ensured – and those are the people you want to surround yourself with. Those who have the will to succeed, to serve, to inspire and to lead are people I can be with every minute of every day.
